Dr. Juan Torres Melero was professor from and began my Bachelor's studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Granada and it was clear to me that it was necessary to develop teaching and research activities. Already in the third year of my degree (1984) I was appointed as an internal student by competitive examination in the Department of Surgery, which was at that time when I began my teaching activity (with the students of the 4th- 6th Medicine and Nursing courses), in addition to begin my research work, the fruit of which was various scholarships from the then National Ministry of Health, the Andalusian Health Department and other Organizations. Finally I obtained my Bachelor's degree with an outstanding grade and two years later, my Doctorate with the highest grade unanimously, completing this post-doctoral period with a stay at the Vaudois Hospital Center, Lausanne, Switzerland). In 1991 I took the national exam to qualify for one of the 3,000 places offered in the Resident Internal Physicians (MIR) program, obtaining place 97 out of 13,000 presented, which allowed me to get the place in General and Digestive Surgery at the University Clinical Hospital. San Carlos (Madrid), where I completed my training as a resident internal physician (professional facet) in addition to participating in numerous teaching and research activities whose results were: scholarships obtained, participation in conferences, presentations, many research works (in especially those carried out in collaboration with Prof. Dra Vara, Department of Biochemistry of the Complutense University and Prof. Dr. J. Arias), in addition to teaching with Medicine and Nursing students who rotated through our Department and the publications referenced in this CV until December 1995 including stay in the Department of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
